      Bhavna Ahlawat completed her postgraduate degree in forensic science with specialization in forensic biological sciences from University of Delhi (Delhi, India). She is currently working on her doctoral thesis in the field of Anthropology from the Department of Anthropology, Panjab University(Chandigarh, India) and Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (Lucknow, India). Her doctoral research work involves working on stable isotope and ancient DNA analyses of ancient human remains. She also holds short term training for ancient DNA analyses at Harvard Medical School, USA. Previously, she worked for three years as an Assistant Professor of forensic sciences at Jain Deemed-to-Be University (Bangalore, India). She also worked as Assistant Professor (Forensic Sciences) at Dyal Singh College (Karnal, Haryana, India). Ms. Ahlawat’s research interests broadly lay in Anthropology and Genetics with recent appeal ancient DNA and population genetics. She has presented research papers related to different sub-fields of genetics and forensic anthropology in various national and international conferences/seminars.
