I am a doctoral candidate at Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences, India, working with Dr Niraj Rai. I have completed my masters and received a Chancellor’s Gold Medal in Biochemistry from Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya. I have qualified NET-JRF and GATE in Life Sciences. I am trained in molecular biology and work on ancient DNA. My PhD work is based on the genetic aspect of ancient human bone samples from Burzahom, Neolithic-Megalithic Archaeological site from Kashmir, India. I am very enthusiastic about the genetic history of South Asia along with migration and admixturesof populations. South Asia is a very interesting and unexplored area for ancient genomics and plays a pivotal role in the formation of modern populations of the world.
